Big Game

Big Game hunting in Southern Colorado is a treat in itself, but when you add Mountain Spirit to the equation…excellence is achieved. Elk, Black Bear, and the elusive giant Mule deer, all create an experience that is forever etched in your soul. Our resident elk herd consists of around 250 head; this is a year round figure. Due to our location however, being a natural migratory path, from early August through December that number escalates 100-200 head. Bow hunting here has proven to be the hunt of a lifetime on more than one occasion. Over the past few years we have seen bulls ranging from 280”-360” We hunt on 5,000 acres of varying terrain accommodating all levels of hunters. Our September archery bear hunt has proven to be quite fun. Even better is having a combo hunt and adding a Mule deer. Over the past 2 years we have seen the same pair of bachelor 35” bucks breeding away. These animals are in the 200+ class. There are only 25 hunter’s and their families that will have this opportunity. Our hunts are booked on a first come first serve basis to our member’s, so call and lets get the process started.
